Koshiro Gig - Thekla (26-03-11)
We played our first ever gig at Thekla, excited to bring our music to the masses on a boat at one of the most famous and unique music venues in Bristol. We'd been drafted in for this gig to support our good friends C.O.I, an indie-funk band we'd played with before at The Fleece in January, their sound completely different to ours but a good dynamic always being carved out once we share a stage. We went on at 7:30pm, just as we did at our last gig at The Cooler, but lets not complain. I think we did a good job of warming up the crowd, despite a huge percentage of them not being there once we roared into opening track 'Ghosts'. A few of our regular fans missed us, the 7:30pm set start earlier than the previously thought 8pm start. Bad news if they wanted to catch us debut a new track, which is something we haven't done for a while. We successfully ploughed through some regular songs, into the new 'Buried At Sea' and ended with 'Engage the Enemy'. Overall, an enjoyable gig at a great venue. Onwards and upwards!
Here's the setlist in full.
- Ghosts
- Last Chance Saloon
- Greater the Void
- Medicine
- Buried At Sea
- Engage the Enemy
Next up, The Fleece! The blog post of that gig (which happened last night) will be up in the next few days.
Here are some pictures from the Thekla gig, taken as always by the lovely Joanna Morris!
