Tomorrow (May 14th) is set to be a very important day for us as a band, and we’re as excited as children on Christmas Eve right now. We are set to return to the studio for the first time in 18 months to record our second EP (as yet untitled), the follow up to our late 2010 release ‘Last of the Fires’. It’s been a long time coming, and in the last year and a half a lot has happened, shaping us both as a band and as a group of friends. There have been trials, tribulations and hardships, but we’ve come out of the other end stronger than ever before and at the peak of our confidence and ready for anything.
Our sound has progressed a hell of a lot since we started this Koshiro lark, meaning that the group of songs we are set to record will be nothing like we’ve put out before. It’s a sound that we are convinced is 100% and undoubtedly ours, bringing together the key elements of melody and brutality that we pour our hearts into to carve out an identity for our music. We aren’t just any hardcore band, we want to induce passion in all who listen, and ensure that we step up our game not just for ourselves but for those who have supported us in our 2 years as Koshiro.
So, what can be expected? We’re taking risks, we’re pushing the boundaries and we’re doing what we do best, and we hope that it’s a combination that will equal a truly memorable EP. We won’t say too much, as the element of surprise is important, but what we can promise is that we will are ready to blow away both new listeners and those who are familiar with us, either from the previous release or our time hitting stages all over Bristol.
We’re out to have fun and enjoy our music but also create something that is timeless, inspiring and exciting. Now is a great time for British heavy music and we’re here to show what we can do, which will be clear in the summer of 2012. The last 2 years have been rehearsal enough for us to make the next important steps, and you can expect us to be littering the relevant social media feeds with news and updates on how the recording of the new EP is going.
